Our Story

Leaving the world of journalism to be a stay-at-home mom was ultimately a slam dunk decision. But as I discovered quickly after having two children, once a creative type, always a creative type. I longed to craft designs and create photos showing the beauty of life. 

After designing countless announcements, invitations and stationery for friends and family, a few of my Mothers of Preschoolers friends nudged me to continue this endeavor on a more consistent basis. I decided to step out of my comfort zone and create Lou & Coops.

Named after my children’s nicknames, Lou & Coops is a design studio and stationery business highlighting not just our talents … but our personalities. There is a little Lou & Coops in every design.

As much as I love to create, I have had to scale back a bit. Coops, who has been diagnosed on the autism spectrum by his school district, needs a lot of my attention and focus. So does Lou – who is very creative but also wants a partner for everything. I realized that in spending all my time and energy in Lou & Coops the business, I wasn’t giving my best to Lou & Coops the children or myself.

And here we are sharing our lives, (selling some of our products) in hopes that you will find something for yourself as well.
